Royal Ascot 2020 - Day 2

Wednesday, June 17, 2020

Although being held behind closed doors, Royal Ascot goes ahead this year, and we have two selections for Wednesday 17th June.

1425 KING EDWARD V STAKES

We kick off with our first selection ARTHURIAN FLAME who looks overpriced here for Brian Meehan and Martin Dwyer. He ran to a UKRF speed figure of 93 on his 2nd start at Newmarket last season and ran to that same level on his seasonal bow  back at that track on 7th June. He is running off a mark of 81 here today which looks extremely workable and I'd have him significantly more prominent in the betting than he is. Being by Sea The Stars, the 12f trip should pose no issue and he rates a decent bet.
1610 WINDSOR CASTLE STAKES
A typically competitive 2 year old contest here at Royal Ascot made even tougher with the recent lockdown. GET IT ranks top on UKRF speed figures here and is a reasonable price to go one better than his recent 2nd place finish. All of his competition that day were trainer nominations giving the form a strong look to it. He should be able to uphold the form with Tactical and gets our vote here.
